Onsite Interpreting Services for Appointments attended in person

An onsite brief should include the building address, entrance, room and name of the person meeting the interpreter. Describe the setting and expected duration so attendance can be planned around the actual appointment.

The working brief for onsite interpreting services focuses on venue access, travel timing and the room arrangement. Share the details before the assignment is agreed so the service matches the task.

For onsite interpreting services, identify the person authorized to answer preparation questions and approve changes. Keep the agreed language, date and delivery or appointment instructions with the order reference.

  • Confirm the exact language and regional preference
  • Share useful terminology and background securely

Across your project

Coordinating Onsite Interpreting Services with Document Translation Services

Written material used at the venue can be translated ahead of time. Upload handouts, certificates or contracts as a separate document order, with the date they must be available to participants.

When onsite interpreting services is part of a larger project, identify the documents and live sessions as separate deliverables. Crest can discuss the sequence without treating one service as a substitute for the other.

Helpful answers

Questions clients ask.

What should I tell you about the venue?

Send the full address, room or department, parking and entrance instructions, and a contact number. Mention security checks, identification requirements and any special access arrangements.

Are travel time and expenses included in interpreter pricing?

That depends on the assignment and interpreter location. Ask for a written quote covering the scheduled time, minimum charge and any travel expenses before confirming.

How do I reserve an interpreter?

Submit your request through the interpreter reservation page. Include the language or dialect, date, local time and time zone, duration, subject, and your venue or meeting link. Crest does not accept office visits. Interpreter availability and booking terms must be confirmed before the appointment.

Which language or dialect should I request?

Use the participant’s own description of their preferred language. Let us know their regional preference and whether any related language labels appear on the records. We can discuss the request before the assignment is confirmed.

Can I request an interpreter at short notice?

Use the interpreter reservation page and clearly mark your required start time. Provide the language, format and appointment details. Support can answer questions, but a request is not a confirmed booking until availability and terms have been agreed.

Can I change or cancel an interpreter booking?

Contact us as soon as plans change. Under the standard policy, cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged for the scheduled time. Your written booking confirmation may include project-specific terms. See our refund and cancellation policy.

Can I send materials to help the interpreter prepare?

An agenda, participant names, specialist terms and relevant passages can help. Agree on an approved way to share them, especially if they contain confidential information.

Can we ask the interpreter to stay longer?

Tell the coordinator as soon as an extension seems likely. Extra time depends on availability and the agreed charging terms; it should be confirmed before the session runs over.

Does Crest provide the interpreter’s joining instructions?

Once the booking is confirmed, follow the connection or arrival plan supplied for the assignment. Keep the on-the-day contact number available in case arrangements change.

Can Crest arrange a translation and an interpreter together?

Yes. Explain the document deadline and appointment schedule. Written translation and live interpreting have different scopes, so we will confirm the arrangements and charges for each.
